Making Myofunctional therapy accessible and obtainable
Hi! Im Darcey McClam and I am so glad you are here! I am a Registered Dental Hygienist and Orofacial Myofunctional Therapist. Over the last 20 years in dentistry, I have observed the symptoms and dysfunctions of the head and neck muscles which directly and greatly impact our overall health. I am thrilled to now have the knowledge and training to help people with the problems I have heard patients complain about for years- like clenching, grinding, mouthbreathing, snoring, obstructive sleep apnea, tongue ties, tongue thrusting, orthodontic support and even TMJ pain or dysfunction.
I completed myomentor with Sarah Hornsby who is a leader in the field of myofunctional therapy and am a certified myobrace educator as well as myomunchee preferred provider. I have experience treating patients of all ages 3+ and am passionate about making therapy fit into my patients lives so that it is more obtainable and less of a burden- which in turn makes it increasingly successful.
When myofunctional disorders are present, our airway health is at great risk which means less than ideal breathing and sleep. Breathing is our #1 most important function. Without it, we will not survive, so it is my passion to educate and assist patients in not only correcting the function of their muscles but providing support for optimal breathing.
I truly believe myofunctional therapy has been the missing link to finding and treating the root cause of the symptoms mentioned above and for this reason have dedicated my career to helping anyone that is suffering, restore normal function and in turn get better sleep, breathe more efficiently and achieve better overall health because of it.
If you suffer from any of the symptoms above, I encourage you to reach out. It would be my honor to be a part of your journey to better health and vitality.
